Here in Payson, Arizona, one of the most celebrated events of the summer is the Mogollon Monster Mudder. The Mudder is event that takes place at the Payson Event Center just at the edge of town, where participants of all ages compete in a wild — and very muddy — obstacle course. My son competes in this event every year and loves it!

This year’s Mudder will be held on Saturday, June 22, with races beginning at 7:00am. The course consists of over 40 man-made and natural obstacles including the Mogollon Rim Wall, a 12-foot-high wall made out of pine logs, the Mammoth Mud Slide — 30 feet of rush followed by pure muddy bliss— and the Colosseum of Terror which consists of ten different obstacles specifically constructed to test both your physical and mental limitations.

Kids will also be able to participate in their own specially designed obstacle course and will be awarded with a free t-shirt and a finisher’s medal for completing the race.

Whether you’re an amateur just looking to have some summer fun in Payson, Arizona, or an expert obstacle course runner, the Mogollon Monster Mudder is sure to give you a sense of thrill and adventure and will be an event you’ll never forget.
