HEAVY SMOKE ADVISORY FOR TODAY
OFF HOUSTON MESA (199) ROAD
The RX fire treatment we began on Mon. Nov. 13 in the Shoofly ruins area is progressing well. We plan to complete that RX fire operation this Thurs. Nov. 16. Smoke will linger in the area thru Sun. Nov. 19, 2017.
PLEASE NOTE THAT SMOKE WILL BE HEAVY TODAY (11-15) AS CREWS BURN OUT ALONG THE HOUSTON MESA ROAD (199). FOR YOUR SAFETY AND THAT OF OUR FIREFIGHTERS, PLEASE EXERCISE CAUTION ANDSLOW DOWN AS YOU DRIVE THRU THIS AREA.
Thank you for your ongoing patience and understanding as we work diligently with limited windows of opportunity to reduce catastrophic wildfire danger in Rim Country, to initiate the restoration of natural ecological systems and landscapes, and to develop and foster sustainable forest conditions, wildlife habitat, and watersheds.
