What have you seen people doing around town this past week? I want to hear about it!
The fires in our surrounding areas have created a very uneasy situation for so many people. So many evacuees are finding refuge in our little town, and boy has Payson stepped up! I’m not surprised at all… I just get excited every time I get to witness our town come together for others. We have local restaurants and businesses providing free meals, milkshakes, groceries, hay bales, baby necessities, dog-walking and pet supplies, movies, gift cards, showers, and so much more!
The support for our wildland firefighters and responders has been overwhelming to watch as well! There are signs all over town showing their support and thankfulness and meals and gift cards being loaded by community members at local places for them! Tens of thousands of dollars have been donated for their needs as they come into town to eat and shop! The generosity of this place is shining through right! We are such a caring community that genuinely loves each other at the root of it all. I refuse to allow myself to take for granted where I live and the folks I am surrounded by every day. We are here for each other, and there is not much more you can ask for in a community!
